Top Tips for Throwing a Baby Shower
• If the gender of the new arrival hasn’t been revealed, choosing a neutral theme doesn’t have to mean basic shades. Soft lemon and pale grey look chic together, or go for a combination of pastel blue and pink.
• It’s easy to go overboard with cute gifts for the little one and forget about the mum-to-be! Lotions and potions as well as relaxing candles will all be very welcome. Or, as a treat, book her into her favourite spa.
• Gift-opening is often seen as the main event, but it’s always nice to add to the occasion with themed games. If time is a struggle, you can buy a huge selection of ready-made baby shower games online, or, if you’re feeling creative it might be nice to organise your own. Why not ask guests to bring their own old baby photos and play the game of guessing who’s who?
• Make memories of this special day by setting up a corner of the room as a photo booth complete with baby-themed props. You could use a polaroid camera so guests can take the photos home.
• No party is complete without cake. Go down the cupcake route and complete with themed toppers, or host your own baby ‘bake off’, where guests bring their own homemade treats.
